For this Winter 2018, Sebastian Strappazon & Orelsan, Avnier founder’s decided to collaborate with the trail expert brand SALOMON. The result of this collaboration is a black “Speedcross 4” covered with black and white geometric lines, reflecting perfectly the French-Swiss brand DNA: a duality between “first” and “last”, “archaic” and “modern”, “reality” and “artificial”.
For the two creators of the brand, the Speedcross 4 symbolized the adaptation of an extreme sport shoe to a urban environment, originally used to surpass your limits in climbing. Renowned for its performance’s quality, the pair keeps a strong contemporary silhouette. Once worn, the pavement turns into a mountain to ascend under our feet.
For the communication campaign of the pair, Avnier called the duo Scott Mc Pherson and Quentin de Ronzier. The two video directors from Wove Studio created a whole imagery around the dichtomitic expression « the city is our mountain ». Shot in an idyllic Tokyo where artificial nature has taken over the retro futuristic architecture of the city, the video presents two young protagonist which daily life turns into an extreme performance as soon as they’re equipped with the trainers.
This duality part of the DNA of Avnier, can be found in the choice of the soundtrack produced by the artist Phazz, the song Heartbreak where epic trumpets meet an extremely heavy and rythmic Trap sound.
