The finnish brand has a lot to offer, including those rad new drops !

The Finnish woods provide more than just a sanctuary to animals and a natural setting for exploration. The forest produces organic and nutritionally rich foods like flowers, wild berries, and mushrooms. What might come as a surprise, they are all free of charge!

The Finnish term “jokamiehenoikeus” (don’t worry, we won’t test your pronunciation) roughly translates to “freedom to roam” or “everyman’s right.” This principle maintains that the country’s forests allow you to harvest almost anything your heart and mouth desires while respecting nature, property and the privacy of others. To honour the tradition of gathering your own healthy forest foods, Karhu shares this curated collection of “Forest Treats.”

Uniquely, the mixed pack consists of two silhouettes: Synchron Classic and an Aria. The Synchron Classic is styled with buckthorn brown suede and colour blocked nylon mesh is giving a sporty outdoor feeling. In contrast, the Aria receives more neutral gray suede panels with a bright red M-logo colour hit. The speckled EVA midsole, water repellent nylon, metal D-ring eyelet construction and rope laces compliment the connection to the outdoors. The berry inspired colour ways give an OG feel to these 70s and 80s silhouettes.

The second Ruska collection consists of three limited Fusion 2.0 colour ways. Each option consists of pigskin suede panels and water repellent nylon at the toe and midfoot sections. The gradient colour blocking is subtle like the changing leaves in nature, but the heel panel receives a seasonal colour pop. The comfortable EVA midsole receives a black speckling treatment for added detail. Finally, the “M-logo” taping, D-ring eyelets and rope laces provide structure to the midfoot and outdoor look.

In Finland, RUSKA is a unique word that is used to describe the time of year when the aspen, mountain ash, and birch leaves begin to turn brilliant shades of gold, burgundy, and caramel. The farther north you travel towards Lapland, the more intense the changing colours of leaves become to not only the trees, but also the surrounding bushes, vines and berries. Karhu invites you to celebrate the start of the autumn season with the “Ruska” pack.

The peak season of ruska’s deep and soft tones might only last for two weeks, but with the popularity of photographers traveling to capture Finland’s wilderness, communities far and wide are able to experience this farewell to summer.

Those rad pairs will be available on September 20 at HER, Shoez Gallery and on ShoezGallery.com !
